The Meaning Of Web 2.0 For Education

Web 2.0 can be named the Future of Education. It deals with social networking and creating, collaborating and sharing the information among users. A teacher can apply a range of Web 2.0 tools during the classes: Prezi, DropBox, Conceptboard, LibriVox, Animoto, Poll Everywhere, Quizlet and many others.

Polls  can be used in order to evaluate students and do a survey that gives a teacher an idea of the level of knowledge gained by the students during the process of learning.

More and more teachers apply DropBox to collect the essays and other papers written by students. Furthermore, they might use it to share some important materials in pdf, doc, pptx and other formats.

Conceptboard is a digital whiteboard, which is often used to share and discuss ideas in multimedia format. It can be made either in a classroom or virtually.

According to Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, creating online flash cards in Quizlet might help students in their remembering process (Remembering level); using Poll Everywhere helps in evaluating the students; Prezi, Conceptboard might assist in understanding the material (Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing levels).
